Rose Aidin: Rose has an undergraduate degree in History of Art, specialising in Renaissance and Twentieth Century Art and Architecture, and an MA in Asian Art and Archaeology. She has a PGCE with QTS teaching qualification and has taught History of Art A level and Art GCSE at a range of independent and maintained sector schools. Rose currently teaches Art History A level part-time at James Allen's Girls' School.
Rose was Education Officer at the Association for Art History (AAH) from November 2014 to September 2016 where she oversaw and managed the development of the AAH's fast-track AS History of Art Outreach Scheme in state schools. She is now developing this scheme independently, through Art History Link-Up, a registered charity, which offers free fast-track AS Art History for state maintained sector students at The Wallace Collection and at The National Gallery on term-time Saturdays.
As Education Officer at the AHH, Rose also projected managed the publication of the first A level Art History textbook, Thinking About Art: A Thematic Guide to Art History, by Penny Huntsman, taking it from manuscript to publication in an industry record-breaking ten months. As educational consultant to the AAH, she managed and coordinated a network of partners interested in widening the participation of students from different backgrounds in the study of History of Art at Higher Education level, in addition to organising events and conferences at venues including The British Museum, The National Gallery and The Courtauld Institute of Art.
Rose has extensive art world experience, having worked for Sotheby's, art dealers, plus public sector organisations, for example the Arts Council England and at the BBC. Rose worked as a freelance arts journalist, writing for publications including The Times, Sunday Times, Guardian, Observer, Independent, Independent on Sunday, Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph, Financial Times and Evening Standard, along with specialist publications such as The Art Newspaper and Apollo.
